The Planning Process

> Planning permission normally lasts 5 years

 

> You may be required to make a financial contribution towards the construction of any road, water supply or sewer connection.

 

> If a local authority refuses you planning permission you have 4 weeks to appeal.

> You must pay a fee with your application

 

For a house its €65
For an extension its €34

 

> Normally you can build a house extension at the rear of your house as long as its single    storey and under 40 metres squares.

 

> You can build a Porch at the front of your house without planning permission if it is under 2 square metres in area.

 

In general we submit the following as part of the application:

 

= Six copies of a site location map
= Six copies of a site plan
= Six copies of the proposed floor plans / elevations
= A plan showing the position of the site notice
= Copies of both the newspaper and site notices
= The relevant fee to the local authority
